WEDU-TV (PBS),
Tampa-St. Petersburg
Florida West Coast Public Broadcasting, Inc., is a non-profit,
501(c)(3), telecommunications entity, which holds the license
of WEDU-TV. The organization's mission is to serve the public
good and to connect communities through broadcasting, the
Web, and community outreach. WEDU is the premiere public television
station licensed to Tampa and St. Petersburg, and covers 17
counties in West Central Florida. This market is the 14th
largest in the US and comprises one-third the population of
Florida.
In February 2001, WEDU was the third most-watched public
television station in the United States. WEDU first signed
on the air October 17, 1958. WEDU has approximately 46,000
members.

| Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber of
Commerce, St. Pete Beach
The mission of the Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber of Commerce
is to provide a unified voice to enhance economic well being,
to address common interests, and to promote the beach communities
of Belleair Beach, Belleair Bluffs, Belleair Shore, Indian
Rocks Beach, Indian Shores, Madeira Beach, North Redington
Beach, Redington Beach, Redington Shores, South Pasadena,
St. Pete Beach and Treasure Island.
These beach communities are located on barrier islands that
hug the mainland, and in some instances, are only a few hundred
feet wide. Their 26 miles of white sandy beaches stretch from
Belleair Beach to the north, to Pass-A-Grille, the southern-most
tip of St. Pete Beach. The beach communities play host to
millions of visitors each year. Located on the sparkling waters
of the Gulf of Mexico, the Tampa Bay Beaches are just across
the bay from Tampa and a 90-minute drive from Orlando.

| Tampa Bay Library Consortium, Tampa
Tampa Bay Library Consortium is a non-profit organization
that assists and empowers local libraries. All types of libraries,
public, academic, school and specialized are members. Since
1979, TBLC has worked with member libraries to provide better,
fast service to the residents of West Central Florida. Technology
has always been at the heat of this cooperative effort.
Today 95 libraries are members of TBLC. They are located
in 12 counties and reach over 3.8 million people. TBLC is
funded by state Library Cooperative Aid, federal grants, member
library dies, and fees paid to cover the cost of services.

| WMFE (PBS & NPR), Orlando
Relevant, unique, local! These are the qualities Central
Florida viewers and listeners use to describe the programming
found on the public radio and television stations of WMFE.
These stations, known as Channel 24 and 90.7 WMFE-FM, serve
an 11-county Central Florida area with non-commercial, non-profit,
member-supported public broadcasting. They have been community
owned and locally governed since 1965.
The stations of WMFE are a unique local treasure, enjoying
the wide respect, recognition, and support of literally hundreds
of thousands of Central Floridians. Today, Channel 24 is viewed
each week by more than 504,000 television households. Likewise,
90.7 is listened to by more than 160,600 people each week.
Together, both stations area a valuable community electronic
media resource, creating a substantial local presence with
programs addressing current events, children, families, education,
information, and the arts. Channel 24 annually produces more
than 100 hours of public information and outreach programs
that are especially relevant to Central Floridians.

a free library and reading room to the inhabitants of the

The objectives of the library are to develop a collection
of materials, the space, staff and programs that will meet
the immediate educational, informational, cultural and recreational
interests and needs of the varied and growing population of
Tarpon Springs.

The premier arts organization in the Tampa Bay area, and
one of the top 10 centers in the United States, The Center
opened its doors in 1987. TBPAC provides world-class entertainment
throughout the year in its beautiful, four-theater complex
located in downtown Tampa.
The Center is home to a scintillating Broadway series with
more than 12,000 subscribers, as well as opera, drama, dance
and comedy. The Center also presents some of the hottest rock
and pop acts in concert.

Florida’s Marine Super Shows
